Great Bookshop: Magma Books, London

In my humble opinion, this is like the mother of all hip art and design bookshops. At the very least, its the one that first stole my heart. I used to pop in every single time I was anywhere near Seven Dials (which was a lot), and now still make a pilgrimage back there every time I'm back in London.

Graphic design, architecture, street art, subculture, magazines, art toys and more, wonderful, beautiful unique books and products, all crammed into a shop the size of a large bathroom.

Great Breakfast Sandwiches - a preliminary list

Hmmm, where to begin... in no particular order (they're all awesome):

*Dad's Classic Breakfast Sandwich - Dad's Kitchen, Sacramento. $5.25
Best breakfast sandwich on earth (Ok, so I guess they're in a little bit of an order.)

* The BE&C - almost anywhere in New York City... couple bucks
...personally partial to the one at a little spot called 'Hot Bagel' on 30th Ave in Astoria.

* Original Tommy’s Breakfast Sandwich - Tommy's, LA. $2.05
Classic. Messy. Awesome.

* Bacon, Egg, Lettuce & Tomato - Potbelly, Chicago and beyond. $2.99
Yeah, so what if its a chain... they're sandwiches rock, breakfast sandwiches included.

* Sausage Fritata Panino - Vella, West Bucktown. $6.75
A little pricey, but more than a little awesome.

* Bacon, Egg and Cheese on an English Muffin - 101 Cafe, Hollywood.
An old AP fave, and that man knows his breakfast sandwiches.

* Speaking of Andy... some place in Boston, no doubt... (there's a debate about it here)

Well, I'm sure this is only the beginning... please comment and add to the list? And go to Dad's Kitchen for god's sake!

on purpose

Transitioning to a more thematic (and, ideally, more actually used) blog. In the future, this will be a place focused on neighborhoods, sandwiches, books and other cool stuff. Mostly sandwich shops and art and design shops in great cities of the world.
